Late last month Bernie Monegain for Healthcare IT News published an interview exclusive to the news site. The interview, with Epic founder and CEO Judy Faulkner gave an insight on what the upcoming plans are for Epic and revealed two new versions of the EHR.
Sonnet, a version of the EHR designed with smaller systems that do not require the entire Epic suite in mind. It will be sold at a lower price point and can be upgraded to include added features or inclusive to the full suite if need be.
Judy is also planning on releasing a middle ground EHR that will allow hospitals and mid-size healthcare systems have an in-between.
