National Health IT Week 2017

Congress and the Administration in addition to stakeholders, nonprofits and providers gathered for National Health IT Week – an event that took place last week, ending Friday, October 6th.

Founded and organized by HIMSS and the Institute for e-Health Policy back in 2006, the event has developed from bringing light to information technology in the healthcare sector to showcasing and reflecting on how far healthcare IT has advanced since then.

This year, the spotlight was on healthcare transformation, and with the expected changes to the Affordable Care Act, discussions took place on what could be done to provide quality, economic, and readily available healthcare to our communities.

Students in the health sector were also involved, webinars, and chats on social media took place.

Becker’s Hospital Review posted a list of five thought provoking questions in regards to the event and can be found here.
