On January 25th, Healthcare IT Company Cerner Corp’s Chief Executive, Neal Patterson, announced he had been diagnosed with a soft tissue cancer. He plans to start treatment immediately. Neal Patterson is the company’s chairman who co-founded Cerner with two colleagues in 1979.
The company feels confident that while he is gone, operations will function as normal. Patterson said he plans to travel less, attend fewer meetings but still stay involved in the business while receiving treatment.
The great news is that he says the cancer is curable and no other evidence of cancer was found elsewhere in his body.
